The FRN avoids the need to provide a Social Security number on the application form. All Amateur Radio new license and upgrade applicants must use their FCC Registration Number (FRN), if they have been assigned one, when completing Form NCVEC 605.
NOTE
: A new EXTRA CLASS question pool (exam) becomes effective on July 1, 2012. The FCC has eliminated the Morse code requirement for all classes of Amateur Radio licenses effective February 23, 2007.Special testing assistance or needs must be arranged in advance.
